Beloved Performer Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in popular TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has succumbed aged 60.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to news outlets.

"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Prolific TV Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.

He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

During the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous well-known programs, like:

  • King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House

He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in "The Middle", featuring across eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"He guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.

The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
