He further clarified that the signal was entirely accidental, happening amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the wrong finger,” he noted. “The action was inadvertently performed. I’m not kidding. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected rapidly.”
League Precedent for Proprietor Fines
This is not the first time an league proprietor has been penalized for inappropriate behavior. Recent examples involve:
- Panthers proprietor Tepper was fined $300,000 for throwing a drink at fans in January 2024.
