Fresh Details Come to Light Regarding the Location of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
New information has come to light about the untimely deaths of esteemed director Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their Brentwood, Los Angeles residence on Sunday.
The Alarm
A source indicates referencing a family associate, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the home. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. It is said she then left the home distraught, without knowing at that moment that her mother's body was also inside. Another individual who had gone with her then dialed 911. Afterward, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, along with the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently in custody and denied bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant also disputed several earlier details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a detached unit on the grounds, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that moment.
Additionally pushed back against circulated notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "concerned" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. Rather the family was "accustomed to working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to accounts of alleged "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a party held by Conan O'Brien on the night before the bodies were found. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.
Ongoing Inquiry Details
As stated by law enforcement officials, the medical examiner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Preliminary media reports noted the condition of their bodies implied they had been dead for a period of time.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the family home. He was due to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday at the earliest.
