Hulu is Producing a Popular Game TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and the Comedy Hit.

The latest action-packed instalment that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, which showcased Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and debuted back in October 6, 2021. Throughout the franchise, it is famous for embracing chaos and madness with equal glee, all while weaving captivating, politically driven tales. No wonder then that FX's new order for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two producers whose creations have represented all of those elements.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' structure by having a different location and cast of characters in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series under their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had excellent partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, gripping, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our associates at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but at the time of writing, we have no details on what character that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Getting to work with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team constantly supports me with their constant confidence and backing.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an anthology series. Every instalment is a variation of a theme, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” explained Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always examining the essence of humanity through this multifaceted and turbulent lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to work with Rob and introduce our mutual unconventional, ambitious approach to the audience.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
